Welcome to my blog. What do I do in the real world? I write short stories, personal essays, and poetry – some of which become published in literary journals and magazines. Occasionally, I win a contest or two. Occasionally, I’m a judge for a poetry or short story contest.
In 2017, I collaborated on a keepsake book composed of my poetry and the art of watercolorist Lynn Centeno called All Ways A Woman. My collection of short stories called Creek Songs became an award winning Finalist in the “Fiction: Short Story” category of the 2022 International Book Awards. Both books are available on amazon.com
Currently, I’m working with two other authors – Rachel Druten and Joanne Hardy – doing a program called “All About Books” for libraries and organizations. We discuss humor writing, the historical novel, and the short story. Plus have a little fun!
What’s underway? I’m completing a novel with the working title The Spence Women.
As a writer in progress, I like learning the craft and seeking the art. As a blogger, I explore writing, life, and stuff we like to ponder. I always feel that writing offers challenge, discovery, inspiration, perspiration, pain, perseverance, a sense of accomplishment . . . and a feeling of wonder!
